A marriage certificate issued in Cyprus is a legally recognised document. For happy couples from the UK, you will need for the original Certificate of Marriage to be legalised. For this purpose, the so-called “Apostille stamp” must be purchased at the town hall, when applying for your licence.  Your marriage certificate will then be delivered to the resort, the next working day complete with apostille stamp.

There is no need to register your marriage when you get home. After the celebration of the marriage, the Marriage Officer will forward a certified copy of the notice of marriage to the local Embassy or Consulate of such country.
